Goliath - Custom Dimoo
Hey hey!
Gosh, June went past quickly and with it the feeling of having done nothing. This is not entirely true, I just made the decision that instead of making many toys, I would just focus on one. And so Goliath came to be.
I don’t know if it was the right choice or not, financially anyway. It has kinda set me back this month. But mentally and developmentally I do think it was the right choice. I often hold back my ideas and fantasies because there just isn’t any time for them. This Dimoo became an exception, however. He was meant to have those ears, but nothing else. As I sculpted, his ears became bigger and more intricate and my vision of his final form changed. And so I scrapped his body, which I did do a lot of work on as well, but decided it was just wrong.
When you work as a designer or artist most of your choices are made out of a business point of view, but it can really quench your creativity. So I am taking a different approach this time as I want to sometimes make more complex sculpts and even bigger Original sculpts in the future.
So as a little trial I will Auction my bigger creations, starting with Goliath. I have set up an auction page for him where you can view the images and also fill in your details and bids. The Auction will start on Friday the 2nd of July at 4.00 PM (London Time) and will end on Sunday the 4th of July at 4.00 PM (London Time). So you have 48 hours to place your bids and I will notify you if you’re outbid to give you a chance to put a higher bid in. Any bids received before or after the time set will not be counted.
In addition, I created this custom made wooden box that will accompany Goliath. The design has been pyrographed by hand and took me an extra two and a half hours to create. This is a truly unique piece of art that I have put a lot of love and time into.

It’s been nearly a year since I uploaded a process video! I have a lot of footage sitting around but find no time to actually sit down and edit it all these days. Come January I will be working five days a week instead of just three. I’ll make sure to set time aside then to get more process videos out to you all. I do enjoy making them and I feel that I learn a lot from watching my own process. I hope you enjoy them too!
